Malpracticelawsuits arise when medical professionals, by action or omission, cause harm to patients. These mistakes can have long-lasting affects and can even result in death. If you have been the victim of medical malpractice, it is important to know your rights and the steps to take in pursuing legal action.
With medical malpracticelawsuits, we work with professionals to prove that mistakes were made that resulted in injury. We walk our clients through the various steps of the lawsuit and ensure each step is handled with precision. We also handle negotiations and settlements.
It is our job to make sure there are answers and consequences for medical mistakes.
Under Missouri law, in instances of wrongful death, the spouse, surviving children or heirs of the deceased may bring a civil action to recover damages against the individual or corporation liable for the death. In this instance, the action would be considered a civil court action, brought by surviving relatives and heirs on behalf of the deceased (“defendant ad litem”). Under the Revised Missouri Statute 537.080.1, only one action may be brought against any one defendant for the death of any one person.
